Brighton’s multi-venue music showcase festival and conference The Great Escape (TGE) has released its final First Fifty lineup and announced Arlo Parks and Maisie Peters as its 2023 Spotlight Show artists.

The two spotlight artists will perform respectively on 12 and 13 May at Brighton Dome Concert Hall. The first of the two shows will see Sussex singer Peters perform, followed by BRIT Award-winning Parks returning to the festival where she played one of her first live shows.

TGE, which takes place from 10-13 May, will host more than 500 up-and-coming artists across 35 walkable venues, alongside the music industry-led TGE conference.

In addition to the Spotlight shows announcement, TGE has also shared the final names to complete their First Fifty wave of acts. Its First Fifty live launch tonight, 15 November, hosts gigs across eight East London venues.

Hosted in partnership with LICKS Magazine, DIY, Ticketmaster New Music, Notion, BBC Introducing, Dork, and Upset, the event’s highlights include Melin Melyn taking at Oslo Hackney (cap. 375), Bambie Thug at Paper Dress Vintage (180) and The Dinner Party at MOTH Club (300).

Other acts announced include Stacey Ryan, 49th & Main, BELLAH, Blondshell, Skaar, Aime Simone, venbee and Avantdale Bowling Club and Ethan P. Flynn.

TGE previously announced the core strands for its music industry-led conference which will take place at the Jury’s Inn Brighton Waterfront hotel. Partnering with CMU, the conference will focus on a different aspect of the music industry each day, with 10 May looking at Music + Education, 11 May focusing on Music + Deals and 12 May giving an overview of Music + The Creator Economy.
