Dubai-based event equipment rental company Protec said it has made changes both to its brand and its operations, as it evolves to meet new post-Covid client needs.

Protec, which has a base in the UK, has refreshed its brand colours, introduced a new website and instituted changes in company structure, management, and processes.

The new brand extends across the entire group including the UK branch. Protec has previously delivered events including UNITE with Tomorrowland, Special Olympics MENA Games Opening Ceremony and the opening ceremony of Dubai Water Canal

Protec marketing manager Eimear O’Brien said, “We wanted to modernise and refresh our image to reflect our vision for the future and the positive operational changes we have introduced. These changes are to be ongoing and committed to continuous improvement and reflection as we enter a new season.”

O’Brien said the company has introduced a short tagline, ‘Your vision, our expertise’ and Protec’s Middle East team of 70 has been optimising its processes and procedures including the introduction of new SOPs and resource planning and rental software. In April it had its ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 accreditation inspected and reissued. There is a new general manager, Matt Allen, who has extensive industry and managerial experience in the region.

Protec has almost 9,000sqm of warehouse space, with stock allowing it to deliver major events self-sufficiently without relying on market supply. There have been also significant investments in lighting and video in 2020.

There are plans to build on Protec’s existing operation in KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and Allen plans to have a team on the ground soon.

One addition to Protec’s facilities is the pre-visualisation suite. The sound-treated dark room with a separate recording booth offers employees and clients an immersive viewing experience to help in the planning and visualisation of events.
