Brin Bucknor has taken up the new role of commercial director at Mash Media, as the events industry publisher (and publisher of Access) continues its rapid expansion.
Bucknor has over 30 years’ media experience in digital, B2B, consumer and regional press publishing. Most recently Bucknor worked as Commercial Director of the Kent Messenger Group, and previously has been Managing Director of VNU Business Publications and interim MD of Time & Leisure Media Group.
Bucknor has also served as JICREG director in the Newspaper Society and has served on the board of the Professional Publishers Association.
Bucknor said: “Mash Media is an important part of the publishing industry and I am both pleased and proud to be joining both Mash and the events industry. I have joined a company with a compelling vision, great capabilities and great people.
“Mash Media has established itself as a key player in the Conference and Events market and its objective is to be even more influential. I have been a senior executive within a number of media companies both influencing, experiencing and being part of the many changes during the digital age. My objective and something that excites me is to play an active role in the further growth of Mash Media. My aim over the next few years will be to help develop the existing brands and the portfolio including Confex, Conference News and Exhibition News, and to continue to look at future products and services that meet the changing needs of our clients and audiences.”
Duncan Siegle moves to the newly created role of Publishing Director at Mash Media with responsibility for strategic development. “This is an exciting time for Mash Media, following significant recent growth, and the appointment of Brin allows us to further invest in our current portfolios whilst continuing to look at new opportunities to expand our offering to the events markets we serve,” Siegle added.
