GL events has confirmed that The NSPCC will be its chosen charity partner for 2019 / 2020.

The company is planning a series of fundraising initiatives, both among its own staff and with its event partners and suppliers throughout the industry, with the aim of raising more than £5,000.

To initiate the campaign, GL events will link up with long-standing client, The Great Run Company. Three members of the team will participate in the Great South Run (October 20) on behalf of the charity. In addition, a newly-formed GL events UK fundraising committee will ensure the team gets to know the NSPCC and its work even better; taking a fact-finding trip to the Childline service centre, and exploring and promoting the charity’s campaigns that aim to protect young people from abuse, keep kids safe online and support young families.

“This is all about making our charity commitments enriching for our culture,” commented Scott Jameson, GL events UK Group managing director. “The one thing we all have in common is childhood, making The NSPCC an important and highly relatable cause for everyone to get behind. There’s a great deal of enthusiasm from the team to engage in this partnership and do something incredible together.”

GL events continues to be an outspoken champion of CSR, sustainability and environmental initiatives, having recently joinied the Festival Vision: 2025 campaign and released its own literature on how to make events work harder, creating a positive legacy for local, national and international communities.
