Bollywood superstar Arijit Singh has announced a history-making headline show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, co-promoted by The Concert Organisation and Live Nation.
Singh is set to become the first Indian artist to headline a UK stadium when he performs at the North London venue to 45,000 fans on 5 September.
The concert will be Singh’s only European date this year. It will mark his return to the UK, having sold-out The O2 arena last August with a show that involved an appearance from Ed Sheeran. Singh is set to feature on Sheeran’s next single, Sapphire.
Live Nation said Singh is currently the most followed artist globally on Spotify with 140 million followers, and is the first non-English singing artist to achieve it, surpassing acts including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande.
Singh said, “I’m just an ordinary person who happens to sing, and I’m incredibly humbled that I have the opportunity to share my songs and perform in London again. If that means I make history, then I will be very blessed.”
