Christopher BarrettChris Brown’s Breezy Bowl XX Tour is understood to be set to go ahead as planned, with the R&B star having been released on bail today by a London judge.
The R&B star’s forthcoming tour was thrown into doubt when he was remanded in custody in Manchester last week. Brown, who has not yet entered a plea, was released on bail of $6.7 million today, 21 May. According to Reuters, he was ordered to pay $5.4 million to start bail, with an additional $1.3 million due in seven days.
Brown was arrested on 15 May at his Manchester hotel for what officials reportedly said was “suspicion of grievous bodily harm” caused during an alleged assault on music promoter Abraham Diaw at a nightclub in February 2023.
The tour involves shows at Co-op Live on 15 and 16 June, followed by UK stadium shows in June at venues including Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Glasgow’s Hampden Park.
Brown’s next court date is set for 20 June at Southwark Crown Court in London, which is bookended by a 19 June show at Principality Stadium and a 21 June concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
