Storm Miguel scuppered two Brighton-based festivals this weekend, Brighton & Hove Multicultural Festival and the Brighton Beats Festival.

Brighton & Hove Multicultural Festival’s line-up of face painting, food stalls, Chinese dragon dances, African drummers and Caribbean steel bands was sadly weather averse. The event was set to take place at East Piazza next to the British Airways i360.

Brighton Beats Festival meanwhile posted a message from organisers stating: “Due to damage inflicted by severe weather overnight on the Brighton Beats festival site, East Brighton Park has been deemed unsafe.

“On advice from our Health & Safety office, Unfortunately the event has been cancelled. We have moved the artists booked to perform today to the following venues Shooshh, Arch, Hideout for those ticket holders who would like to join us.”
