Troxy has hosted a special live recording of DICE’s first podcast event with Fearne Cotton for her ‘Happy Place’ series.

Over the May bank holiday weekend, Fearne Cotton interviewed two of the hottest names in today’s entertainment industry, Game of Thrones star, Maisie Williams, and indie-rock sensation James Bay. The beautiful art deco surrounding of Troxy brought Fearne’s inaugural wellbeing podcast to life perfectly, with a full house enjoying the special live recording of the show.

The live recording kicked off with a positive and engaging Q&A session with the woman behind The Happy Newspaper, Emily Coxhead. BRIT award-winning indie singer-songwriter James Bay joined Emily on stage to discuss surviving the turbulence of the music industry, social media and its impact on both men and women, and how he is still navigating it in his personal and professional life.

The second guest on the show was Game of Thrones’ star, Maisie Williams, who has proven herself to be an inspiring talent, both on and off the screen. During the interview, Maisie opened up about her personal insecurities being regarded as a role model.

Additionally, she introduced her new app, ‘Daisie’, which aims to bring creators together, as well as support them in their work. The idea of the app sprung from the notion that in today’s world, people are concerned with the individual, whereas Daisie steers away from that concept and embraces togetherness by providing creators with everything they may need to bring their ideas and concepts to life.

Troxy general manager, Tom Sutton-Roberts, who project-managed the evening, commented: “We enjoyed working with our mobile ticketing partner, DICE, to support the first major live recording of Fearne Cotton’s ‘Happy Place’ podcast series. The production and scenic elements were fairly straightforward as the emphasis was on the content. While the audience wouldn’t have noticed, I was aware that our recently installed JBL line array pa system did mean that the audio was of the highest quality. That certainly enhanced the audience experience as they heard every nuance of the inspiring discussions on well-being.”

Amy Oldham, managing director UK, DICE, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have launched Podcasts Live with Troxy, their creative approach and valuable insight made for an incredible evening. We’re excited by the power of podcasts to inspire a community and what better place to bring fans together to be part of the conversation.”
