The founder of Tribal Gathering/Final Frontier, Paul Shurey, is in a critical condition following a serious motorcycle accident in Goa, India.

The first Tribal Gathering took place in 1993 at Luton Hoo and was attended by over 25,000 people. It was effectively the first legal rave in Britain.

Over the next five years, Shurey became established as Britain’s most successful dance music promoter. As well as his Tribal Gathering events, Paul also popularised underground techno and house via his Final Frontier parties at Wandsworth’s Club UK in 1994.

Today, he is in an intensive care unit and needs to be repatriated so he can receive further operations and care. Shurey’s travel insurance company are not covering his claim and his friends and family have launched an appeal to raise money to bring him back to the UK.

After two operations on his brain he is fighting for recovery. His travel insurance company seem to be dragging their heels over his claim,” his brother, Simon, said. We, his family & friends, are trying to cover the cost of his ongoing treatment. Any donations would be very gratefully received. Thank you.”

Paul Shurey is a father, a friend to many, a talented musician, a legendary promoter, a digital marketeer and someone who has time for everyone. Make a donation, however small, to help save this man’s life: http://www.gofundme.com/2nnvdc
