On the back of already building a 1.5 million user base in the UK, Amsterdam-based fan-to-fan secondary ticketing operator Ticketswap said it will formally launch in the territory.

Since it was founded in 2012 by Hans Ober, the Dutch company has partnered with thousands of international events, including Holland’s DGTL (cap. 20,000) and Sziget (90,000).

Ticketswap has already opened offices in Brazil, Sweden, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Poland earlier this year.

The launch of a UK office follows it successfully raising $10m (£7m) last year, from Dutch investment firm Million Monkeys, to accelerate growth and expand into new markets.

“It’s clear there is a need for another innovative resale platform in the UK,” said Ober.

Michael Robinson, who will head up the UK office, said, “Ticketswap has so much to offer promoters, especially with regards to helping them reach sell out quicker and identifying new audiences – something that’s so important in such a competitive landscape. We’re looking forward to working closely both with our partners and associated trade bodies across the UK”.
