Christopher BarrettThe Sundown Festival, which takes place at Norfolk Showground in Norwich, has been cancelled for 2025.
The event, which has featured acts including Jess Glynne, Olly Murs and Chase & Status, was launched by a team including Roy Trickett in 2013. It was later purchased by U-Live, part of Vivendi, before being acquired in April this year as part of CTM Eventim’s purchase of Vivendi’s ticketing business See Tickets, along with its festival division consisting of 11 events.
The 20,000-capacity event was last staged over three days in August, with more than 80 artists, including Tom Grennan and Kenya Grace, performing across its five stages. The next edition was set to be held on 29 August.
Sundown Festival’s directors are U-Live general manager Dawn Jones and Eventim Live MD Dr. Frithjof Pils.
In a statement, the event’s organisers said, “What started as humble beginnings grew into a five-stage camping festival, partnering with iconic music brands and artists, surviving a pandemic, and even taking Sundown to Malta. It’s been an unforgettable journey. After careful consideration however, we regret to announce that Sundown will not be returning to Norwich or Malta in 2025.
“We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who’s been part of this journey. Most of all, a huge thank you to our fans — you’ve been the heartbeat of Sundown. Your energy, passion, and memories have made everything possible, and we’ll never forget the moments we shared together.”
