Industry association EVCOM’s Summer EVCOM, which takes place 17 September at Olympia London, will carry the theme ‘the art of collaboration’.

EVCOM will have the Reed Travel Exhibitions IBTM Global Events brand as its headline sponsor for its Summer EVCOM event. The sponsorship from Reed forms part of a new international partnership between the organisations.

RTE’s IBTM Global Events head of marketing Katie Devaney said: “We are proud to support Summer EVCOM with its aims of promoting collaboration, business connections and inspiration. These objectives are very much aligned with IBTM Global Events, our regional and global exhibitions provide connections that matter on an international scale for the meetings and events industry across seven continents. We look forward to a successful day for all participants.”

Eventia may have rebranded as EVCOM in March, but the Eventia Awards 2014 live on and the association has opened this year’s edition to entrants at: evcom.org.uk/awards-entry.

The Awards are designed to recognise professionally managed, produced and executed events and the UK and International companies that originate them.

Eventia Awards committee chairman Andrew Wright said: “The Eventia Awards are the benchmark for the reward of excellence in our industry. We have been working hard on creating a bespoke entry system so that entry and judging is easier going forward not just for the Eventia Awards but all the awards EVCOM produce. We actively encourage as many companies as possible to take a look at our new system and to enter the Awards so that we can showcase the best of the best at our spectacular Awards celebration on 28 November at the Hilton on Park Lane.”

Following a revamp of categories due to the merger between Eventia and IVCA to reflect interests from both memberships, new awards for 2014 include ‘Internal Engagement’, ‘Learning Experience, ‘Cultural and Arts’, ‘Sporting Events and ‘Award for Innovation’, offering a total of 24 awards up for grabs.

Nominations are encouraged from both organiser and supplier communities for The Rising Star. Awarded at the discretion of the EVCOM Board, this award seeks to acknowledge and encourage exciting young new talent in the events industry. The award is free to enter and multiple nominations are welcome.

The deadline for entries is 3 October 2014 and all projects entered must have taken place between 1 July 2013 and 30 June 2014.
