Olympic long jump gold medallist Greg Rutherford and Paralympic couple Sarah and Barney Storey, who between them won five golds at London 2012, will be among the athletes switching on the Regent Street Christmas lights tomorrow.

The display will stretch from north of Oxford Circus to St James’s for the first time. Gold holly and red berry garlands, celebratory tributes to the Olympic and Paralympic teams, will hang from the sky, and gold filigree plaques will tell the story of the twelve days of Christmas.

The action-packed switch-on evening will begin with a
choral rendition of the 12 days of Christmas and
culminate in a spectacular pyrotechnic display.
