Orbital Sound will supply the audio system for the UK tour of the musical West Side Story until July 2014.

Orbital will provide the sound equipment and technical support for the tour, which started in September and will finish in July next year.

Sound designer for the show, Rick Clarke, will be using a sizeable d&b audiotechnik T-Series line array system alongside a Yamaha PM1-D mixing console.

“My original designs were based around highly distributed point source systems that were precisely set up with time delays to achieve precedence for the actors on stage,” said Clarke.

“On tour we had the luxury of a Sunday get in and Tuesday opening. That doesn’t happen now, so using line arrays, obviating delays and fewer rigging points speeds everything up.”
