Nottingham Arena has extended its naming rights partnership with Motorpoint for another six years.
Known as the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham since 2015, the renewal means the relationship between the independent used car retailer and the 10,500-capacity venue will continue until at least 2030.
As part of the renewal, Motorpoint said it will expand the scope of the partnership and introduce a range of new initiatives at the city council owned venue that is operated by Nottingham Ice Centre Ltd. They will include a monthly prize draw to give eventgoers the chance to win tickets to upcoming events at the arena, in addition to running a range of family-friendly activities during events.
Backstage, Motorpoint has provided car bonnets that performers and sports stars will be invited to sign. Once the bonnets are full, they will be used as part of the arena’s 25th anniversary celebrations. Kings of Leon was the first band to take part in the initiative.
The company said that as part of its commitment to safe driving, non-alcoholic Estrella Galicia beer will be introduced at the arena with 50p for every pint sold going to Motorpoint’s nominated road safety charity.
Motorpoint chief digital officer Andrew Thomson said, “As part of this renewal, we’ll be focusing our efforts on offering event goers something extra when visiting the arena.”
Motorpoint Arena CEO Martin Ingham said, “The Motorpoint Arena attracts some of the biggest names in live music, comedy, family entertainment and indoor sporting spectacles to the city. These all entice a local, regional and national audience that provides Motorpoint with an ideal opportunity for their brand to engage with fans enjoying wonderful experiences during these exciting events.”
Upcoming shows include Becky Hill, Bob Dylan, The Script, Fontaines D.C., Pete Tong, Paul Heaton and Culture Club.
