Nordic Wristbands, which recently partnered with industry veterans Graham Brown and Andy Winmill to handle its UK distribution, has added recycled ocean plastic wristbands to its range.
The company said the move strengthened its ongoing commitment to the environment, on the back of it achieving a 44% emissions reduction last year through the use of recycled materials.
Nordic Wristbands said it achieved the CO₂e reduction through sustainable manufacturing policies, including switching to recycled polyesters and organic materials to produce fabric wristbands and integrated NFC tech elements. It said the company had reduced production emissions from 302 tons to 168 tons of CO₂e last year, the equivalent to saving approximately 4,041 trees or powering 39.3 homes with 100% renewable electricity for one year.
Nordic said it offsets its annual production-related emissions via initiatives including a partnership with Stand for Trees, a platform that facilitates carbon offsetting through the protection and restoration of tropical forests.
“Sustainability isn’t just a checkbox, it’s a responsibility,” said Nordic Wristbands founder Jone Nuutinen. “This shift to recycled fabrics and Stand For Trees partnerships are part of our larger mission to minimise our environmental impact while delivering premium, tech-integrated solutions to events and experiences worldwide.”
