Neptunus and H Power Group have helped produce a ceremony in Belgium to commemorate the centenary of World War One.

The event, which took place at the St Symphorien Military Cemetery in Belgium, was attended by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. 

The cemetery is the final resting place for 229 Commonwealth and 284 German servicemen. It is under the care of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the ceremony there on 4 August, the anniversary of the start of WWI, also involved British Prime Minister David Cameron and King Philippe and Queen Mathilda of Belgium.                                      

Neptunus, which recently had a presence at Farnborough International Air Show, was contracted for the event by Windsor-based event management specialists H Power Group, which specialises in staging high-profile military and ceremonial occasions. 

A 20-strong technical team from Neptunus spent five days erecting over 2,500sqm of structures able to accommodate 500 guests in fields adjoining the cemetery.

Neptunus also provided structures for a media centre, offices, medical room, kitchens and catering areas along with facilities for the BBC TV production team who broadcast the event to a worldwide audience.

Neptunus UK MD April Trasler said: “We are deeply honoured to have been selected to support such a historically important and immensely moving occasion viewed by millions of people all around the world.”                                                                           

Neptunus UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of Neptunus BV based in The Netherlands. The company supplies structures to sports events and exhibitions including the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Farnborough International Air Show.
