The East of England Arena and Events Centre will host the National Festival of Railway Modelling, 7-8 December 2019, for the 11th year.

The event is organised by Warner’s Shows, and supported by Market Deeping Model Railway Club and Nene Valley Railway.

The festival, which regularly attracts 5,000 or more visitors over two days, will be taking advantage of a shuttle bus partnership with the venue, and visitors arriving by train will get free transport to and from the venue every 30 minutes. There will be free parking on-site for all visitors arriving by car.

Held in the 4,000sqm arena building, the National Festival of Railway Modelling will include over 30 full layouts in a variety of gauges, showcasing the most extensive, detailed and complex model railway creations from around the world; there will be over 100 trade stands, offering thousands of products, areas and stands for clubs and societies to exhibit their own work, and demonstrations of the technology and techniques involved in creating model railway layouts.

Jason Lunn, venue director, welcomed the National Festival of Railway Modelling to the venue, said: “There’s nothing miniature about this show, which fills the arena every year with an incredible variety of model railway layouts and trade stands, not to mention the many societies and clubs that come to meet here and see what’s new in the world of model railways. Warners Shows always puts together an incredibly professional and smoothly run event, and it’s a pleasure to welcome the festival back to Peterborough.”
