On 30 November, Olympic long jump medallist Greg Rutherford re-created the 18ft jump originally undertaken by Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, to launch the film being released on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on 3 December.

The experience, which Access editor Tom Hall took part in, was created at Royal Horticultural Halls (RHH) as a one-day thrill for competition winners and was staged 10ft above ground against a green screen which had the original landscape footage imposed on it afterwards.

Loads of competition winners attempted the jump after Rutherford and were given DVD’s or Blu-rays for their success. Access editor Tom Hall was among those who took the leap.

Lorraine Thorne, venue sales manager at RHH, said: ‘It was a real spectacle to behold and a lot further than some had anticipated. Greg smashed his jump and the team were so inspired they all had a go too!’
