The Royal Parks Half Marathon has appointed London Marathon Events (LME) as the event’s new delivery partner following a competitive tender process.

The new five-year partnership will cover the 2023 to 2027 Royal Parks Half Marathons.

The mass participation event sees participants run through four of London’s eight Royal Parks, including Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park, and Kensington Gardens. Since the race began in 2008, nearly £60m has been raised for more than 1,200 UK charities.

The event’s sustainable initiatives include the removal of plastic water bottles from the course. This year’s race also saw the launch of the event’s first-ever Plant-Based Food Village, created to encourage visitors to consider sustainable food choices.

LME event director Hugh Brasher said, “We share a mutual ambition with The Royal Parks to lead the way on event sustainability, charity fundraising and providing an unparalleled experience for the participants, supporters, sponsors and charities. The work done over the last 15 years to make this event so special has been wonderful and we look forward to helping take the event to the next level.”

Head of the Royal Parks Half Marathon, Liz Tack said, “As an iconic London race, we’re excited to work with the team responsible for delivering other major events in the capital. Together we’ll continue to champion sustainability, inclusivity, charity fundraising and wellbeing.”

The next edition of the Royal Parks Half Marathon takes place on 8 October 2023.
