The 2025 TCS London Marathon has set a new world record for the largest single-day fundraising event, with a final total of £87.3 million.

Last year’s event raised £73.5m, and the cumulative amount raised since the first marathon in 1981 now stands at £1.4 billion.

This year’s London Marathon also broke other world records, including the largest marathon with 56,640 finishers. More than 1.1 million people entered the ballot for the 2026 marathon.

London Marathon Events and the London Marathon Foundation have released their first Impact Report, highlighting the social, environmental, and physical benefits of the marathon across the UK, including initiatives supporting children and young people, tree planting, and community engagement projects.

London Marathon Events CEO Hugh Brasher said, “Thousands of charities directly benefit from the money raised by the incredible efforts of those who ran 26.2 miles on 27 April, helping these organisations make a difference all year round.
