2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button is heading to Goodwood on 26-29 June for the Festival of Speed.

This will be Button’s 15th excursion to the festival – he’s driven a 1970 Can-Am McLaren M8D, a P1 supercar and Alain Prost’s 1986 grand prix-winning car. With 253 World Championship grand prix starts and 15 victories – including his 2009 World Champion win – Button has made his mark on the racing world.

He joins fellow ex-F1 champions John Surtees and Emerson Fittipaldi on the list of confirmed attendees.

“Goodwood is one of the highlights of my season,” Button said. “I’ve had the chance to get behind the wheel of some incredible historic racing cars there, which I’d never have been able to drive otherwise.”

Racing legends have been confirming their attendance fast and furious, with Andy Rouse and John Fiztpatrick also signed up for the event.
