Guy Dunstan, GM of Arenas at The NEC Group, has been appointed as the new chair of the National Arenas Association (NAA).

The NAA represents 17 concert and event venues across the UK and Ireland. It provides a forum for employees of indoor-seated arenas to meet and share best practice, and discuss common issues.

Dunstan will take over the position from chair Geoff Huckstep, CEO at Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, who has served in the post on his second term for the past two and a half years.

“It’s a real honour to be appointed Chair of the NAA, six years after I first joined the association. The NAA has made significant progress with the best interests of the industry at its heart, and I look forward to continuing this important work,” said Dunstan.

“As chair, I would like to see the strengthening of our networks across the industry – we’re already successful with networking in event management, safety, sales and marketing and rigging. I also see a real opportunity to grow networks in areas such as facilities, security, and sustainability.”

Dunstan’s term will run until December 2015.
