Paul Deighton, London 2012 chief executive and star of the Access Sessions 2008, is to join the government ranks as Commercial Secretary to the Treasury.

David Cameron said appointing the former investment banker at Goldman Sachs “proves this Government means business in terms of delivering infrastructure projects and economic revival”. And Deighton’s job will be to “bang heads together” to get economy going, according to a spokesman at Number 10.
