Ed Sheeran and manager Stuart Camp were presented with an award by promoter FKP Scorpio after selling out a third show at the Volksparkstadion (cap. 57,000) in Hamburg.
The award recognises Sheeran having sold five million ticket across 107 concerts since the start of his partnership with FKP Scorpio, which began in 2011
FKP Scorpio is working with Sheeran extensively this summer promoting 22 European shows as part of his Mathematics tour, which kicked off in 2022.
Over the course of the weekend (4-6 July), Sheeran played to 170,000 fans with the award being presented before the start of yesterday’s performance (6 July) at the Volksparkstadion.
FKP Scorpio CEO and founder Folkert Koopmans (pictured) said: “We are extremely proud to have worked as Ed Sheeran’s tour promoter for 14 years now and to have reached so many fans together. Five million tickets represent not only his extraordinary musical talent but also the unforgettable moments we have been able to share with millions of people.”
Sheeran said, “Thank you to everyone who makes these shows possible – and of course to all the fans who keep coming back!”
In the UK, Daniel Ealam has worked with ED Sheeran from the early days having first booked the singer-songwriter to play a 700-capacity club show at Stealth in Nottingham in 2010. FKP Scorpio hired Ealam, alongside Scott O’Neill, from DHP Family in September 2020 to set up the UK arm of the Pan-European promoter. In 2024, FKP Scorpio UK joined forces with Communion Presents to form Communion One. Kilimanjaro Live co-promoted Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics stadium tour in the UK alongside FKP Scorpio UK.
