As Team GB shone at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Eat to the Beat, the catering division of Global Infusion Group, played a key role behind the scenes.

Based at Team GB’s Performance Lodge in Clichy and its Preparation Camp in Saint Germain en Laye, Eat to the Beat provided meals to athletes and support staff.

While the catering operation delivered by Eat to the Beat had been planned months in advance, the company said its role gained prominence when reports surfaced about dissatisfaction with other catering services.

In response to several Team GB’s athletes flocking to the Performance Lodge for the food, Eat to the Beat responded quickly to the increased demand by flying out an additional chef from the UK and having the capacity to deliver 400 covers a day if needed.

Eat to the Beat CEO Bonnie May said, “We’re known for our excellent food, but our real strength lies in our logistics and creating a home-from-home environment. Whether for world tours or the Olympics, we want our guests to feel welcome and relaxed.”

The team’s preparation was thorough. Clichy’s catering college environment was ideal, while the tight space in Saint Germain en Laye was tested with a detailed mock setup at Eat to the Beat’s headquarters. Their efforts also included serving mocktails and setting up an ice cream bar before the opening ceremony, and staying late to accommodate medal winners’ meal requests.

Team GB’s management praised the catering. Andy McSweeney, deputy head of the Performance Lodge, said, “The food has been exceptional from day one. The dedication of your team is making a real difference to our athletes’ experience and performance.”

With Team GB finishing seventh in the medal table, securing 14 golds and 65 medals overall, Eat to the Beat will also support ParalympicsGB in Paris next month.
