BoomTown Fair has revealed that it is set to replace Arcadia with an as yet unconfirmed new project, dubbed its ‘biggest ever’.

Because of the need for “constant evolution”, BoomTown Fair’s Chapter 7 – set to happen in 2015 – will not include the mechanical and pyrotechnical spider show.

Plans for the biggest ever project to-date will start being revealed next week.

Taking place over 13-16 August 2015 at the Matterley Estate near Winchester, BoomTown is a theatrical and artistic music event.

The festival is one of the fasted growing events in the industry, expanding from just 1,000 in 2009 to 38,000 in 2014.

The Arcadia Spider has been a permanent fixture of BoomTown ever since 2012, located in the Mad Max style dystopian DownTown district, which houses a plethora of winding streets with themed buildings, hidden venues and street parties.

BoomTown Fair creative director Lak Mitchell said: “Both crews have a huge thirst for constantly pushing the boundaries of what is expected and to reach new heights in production levels. One of the most important things for us at BoomTown is to keep producing the unexpected to our festival goers and we are constantly on the lookout for new and ridiculous ways to approach the overall festival experience.

“We’ve had the most amazing journey with our good friends Arcadia and will look back with a massive amount of happiness at what we collectively accomplished but we are both ready to move on and discover new adventures and conjure up the next generation of crazy ideas.”
