The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) will be launching the first of a series of high adrenaline sporting events at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse 13 September 2014. They will be showcasing full contact sport, MMA, which by allowing techniques from a range of different combat forms has evolved into its own fusion discipline.

The 900 capacity space opened in February 2014 boasting raw architecture, its own bar, private green room and a plush dressing room, and that forms an exclusive space for high profile guests and all involved are said to be staying under one roof, taking over the 35-room onsite hotel.

Award-winning Sven Knight of Knight Rigging took on the challenge to design the rig for the sporting events. Kicking off with the first event, BAMMA16, the setup will include a colossal circular ring as a centrepiece with a stage and walkway as a platform to present the fighters before they enter the ring. The build will also incorporate pyrotechnics, lighting and audio to help elevate the live experience.

TV networks will be capturing the magic by filming and broadcasting the event to a global audience. Networks involved will include; Extreme Sports Channel in Europe, AXS TV in the US, Sony in Russia, Kix in Asia, Abu Dhabi TV in the Middle East, The Fight Network in Canada and Setanta in Africa.

BAMMA16 marks a return to Manchester for the globally renowned promotion team, with a headlining international welterweight clash and tiered tickets are available to include the VIP treatment in the new mezzanine level at Victoria Warehouse.
