Max SteventonAndrea Bocelli will headline the inaugural Land of Song Festival at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium (concert cap. 75,000) on 8 May 2027, in his first headline concert in Wales.
The festival is being delivered by Young Voices in partnership with Kilimanjaro Live and will launch with Bocelli performing alongside the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera and a massed choir at the stadium.
The festival will continue on 9 May with the return of Côr World Choir, bringing more than 20,000 singers from Wales, the UK and overseas together in Cardiff.
Côr World Choir was first held in Cardiff in 1992 by the organisation that later established Young Voices. The event brought international choirs together at Cardiff Arms Park.
Land of Song Festival will take place every two years and has been established to celebrate Wales’ choral and musical heritage, with further artists and events to be announced.
The festival’s wider programme will also include Young Voices Cymru, which will bring up to 15,000 children to Principality Stadium in May 2027.
“Throughout my career I have been fortunate to perform in many extraordinary places around the world, and I am thrilled to be making my first headline appearance in Wales,” said Bocelli. “The country’s rich choral heritage and deep connection with music make this city a fitting setting for this special concert, and I am looking forward to an unforgettable evening in Cardiff.”
