Hip-hop artist Travis Scott hosted a concert inside videogame Fortnite, which attracted 12.3m participants.

Players gathered to watch a ten-minute performance which featured an enormous, choreographed digital version of Scott, who was visible from all corners of the games island. The concert teleported players between a number of different vantage points as they watched, in order to get the best view of the action.

As the performance cycled through a handful of different songs, it featured elaborate visual effects that built to a dramatic finish.

The event is the second major in-game concert hosted by Fortnite, after DJ Marshmello performed a set to players in February 2019.

Fortnite official Twitter page commented: “Over 12.3 million concurrent players participated live in Travis Scott’s Astronomical, an all-time record!”
