Truckfest, which took place in Peterborough on 30 – 31 August, attracted more than 6,000 visitors per day, according to organiser Live Promotions.

The event’s infrastructure at the East of England Arena and Events Centre included more than 500 camping pitches.

The event, which features more than 1,000 trucks, was due to take place during the May Bank Holiday but was postponed with the aim of developing a Covid secure event environment acceptable to authorities and within Government guidelines.

Live Promotions director Colin Ward said East of England Arena venue director Jason Lunn and his team were hugely supportive from the event’s planning through to execution: “Together our teams were able to meet the latest Covid-19 regulations, as well as working with the local authority and Public Health England, resulting in a highly successful Truckfest 2020.”

Lunn commented, “Running events during COVID-19 requires the venue and organiser to stand side by side in planning and production. The responsibility is simply enormous. We have always worked closely with our clients but this sets a new high for us.”
