Classic car celebration The Classic has been rebranded Silverstone Festival with organisers wanting the new name to better reflect the “the wider experience now enjoyed by festival-goers”.

The rebranding to emphasise a festival experience is in line with Silverstone’s move to expand its live music offering to create a “festival feel” at the British Grand Prix.

Silverstone said the re-brand marked a new era for the event, which has been known as The Classic since its launch in 1990.

Silverstone Festival, which will run from 25-27 August, will feature an array of on track action and displays of classic cars, along with a line-up of off-track entertainment including main stage music and family entertainment.

Silverstone Festival event director Nick Wigley said, “We’re so excited to mix the very best historic motorsport on track, with even more energy and adventure off track to entertain the whole family.”
