Stamford Bridge teamed up with BAFTA to host a gala evening at the stadium to celebrate the life of Richard Attenborough and raise funds for his charitable trust.

The evening saw a host of stars descend on the stadium, including Sir David Attenborough, Imelda Staunton, Dame Penelope Winton and sporting stars Terry Venables and Lawrence Dallaglio.

The evening was hosted by new presenter Sir Trevor McDonald and entertainment was provided by the cast of West End show Jersey Boys.

The Stamford Bride events team and BAFTA designed a purpose-built dome for the drinks reception, while the main event was held in the 1,400sqm great hall.

Simon Hunter, head of venue and brand at Stamford Bridge commented: “It gives us great pleasure to host this unforgettable evening in honour of the club’s Life President Lord Attenborough. The venue team has worked tirelessly to create an event that oozes style and befits one of the greatest award-winning film legends of our time.”
