Independent event ticketing platform, Skiddle has announced Northern Ireland as the 2024 recipient of its Promoter Fund bursary scheme, awarding over £10,000 in grants to up-and-coming event organisers.
Scotland was the focus in 2023 of two funding rounds, where £30,000 was awarded, including distributions towards student promoters and aspiring event organisers.
Running throughout the summer, the 2024 initiative has supported a new generation of local promoters, equipping them with essential resources to bring their event ideas to life and, in turn, strengthening the region’s music and nightlife scenes.
Each confirmed recipient received a grant of up to £1,000 to support events held throughout the season. Skiddle also offered winners mentorship, guiding them through marketing, launch and ticketing strategies and other essential topics.
Grant recipients included Plain Sailing, an upcoming club brand and zine publisher in the territory. Bedroom Community, known for organising live gigs and championing local talent, also received funding, along with Looney Tunes, specialists in rave events, among others.
And 2023 grant recipients, Glasgow’s PEAK, shared their experience of winning a grant through the bursary scheme, describing how the funds had helped to propel their growth. To watch the full interview, click here.
The Skiddle team is attending this year’s Output Belfast Music Conference on 12 November.
