The Science Museum in South Kensington is opening its doors to the world’s largest medical galleries on 16 November; Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries.

The five galleries were part of a £24m transformation of the Science Museum’s first floor, and they will feature more than 3,000 medical artefacts from the collections of Henry Wellcome and the Science Museum Group. The galleries will also contain interactive games, immersive experience and artworks, that aim to bring the history of medicine to life.

With the five galleries designed by WilkinsonEyre – Medicine and Bodies; Exploring Medicine; Medicine and Treatments: Faith, Hope and Fear; Medicine and Communities; The GSK Gallery – cover more than 3000sqm. This renovation marks over half of the Science Museum being transformed since 2010.
