Special Projects has been appointed to provide site management services for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland.

The Ryder Cup will return to Ireland next year for the first time since 2006, bringing together teams from Europe and the United States.

The news of Special Project’s appointment follows the opening of its new office in Cork, Ireland, earlier this year to house the company’s Irish operation SP Site Management Ireland Limited; trading as Special Projects Ireland.

Special Projects said it will work alongside the Ryder Cup operations team to provide site management expertise throughout the planning, build, tournament period and de-rig phases.

The 2027 Ryder Cup will see Special Projects Ireland supported by its wider delivery team, including Safe Events Global and Event Site Design Ltd.

Special Projects was founded in 2006 by John Wilson. Among the many projects it has delivered services to, including site planning and structure overlay, range from TRNSMT and Summer Sessions festivals in Scotland to MDL BEAST’s flagship festival Soundstorm in Saudi Arabia.

“We are incredibly proud to be supporting the delivery of the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor,” said Wilson. “Major events of this scale rely on detailed planning, strong relationships and experienced people on the ground. We have built Special Projects around those principles and we are looking forward to bringing that experience to Ireland and working closely with the wider Ryder Cup team.”

Special Projects director Teresa Wilson added, “Having worked as a freelancer on the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in 2014, it is very special to be involved again, this time with Special Projects. We are incredibly proud to bring our experience tocIreland and to be part of such an exciting project. I am really looking forward to what lies ahead.”
