Max SteventonThe organisers of Primavera Sound Barcelona (cap. 71,000) said it is extending its social and environmental activity for this summer’s event, set for 3-7 June at Parc del Fòrum.
The sold-out 24th edition of the festival, which is promoted by Primavera Sound SL, will take place from 4 -6 June at Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona. Headliners include The Cure, Doja Cat, The xx, Gorillaz, Massive Attack and Addison Rae.
Primavera Sound said it will continue its partnership with the United Nations Action Campaign for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which began in 2019, as part of a broader sustainability and inclusion strategy.
Most stages at the festival site will operate using clean energy supplied through the mains grid or battery systems as part of a renewed partnership with energy company Plenitude. Organisers said emissions would remain below European Union 2030 targets.
According to organisers, up to 85% of festival infrastructure will be built using reused materials, including signage, furniture, fencing and bar structures. Staff areas will include electric vehicles and smart hydration points.
Primavera Sound will also introduce four hydration zones with 49 free chilled water taps in collaboration with Aigües de Barcelona to reduce plastic waste. The festival will continue using reusable cups and compostable catering materials.
The festival said more than 85% of attendees travelled to the 2025 edition by public transport, bicycle or on foot. Agreements with TRAM Barcelona and shuttle bus services will continue for 2026, alongside a free bicycle parking area with capacity for 1,000 bikes.
Primavera Sound’s Nobody is Normal protocol against sexual assault and discrimination will return this year. The initiative, overseen by rights organisation Genera, includes information points and roaming support staff across the festival site.
Accessibility measures will also be expanded, including priority access lanes, raised viewing platforms, adapted catering areas and an accessible safe space for neurodivergent attendees and people with reduced mobility.
The festival’s 2026 line-up includes artists such as Doja Cat, Addison Rae, Bad Gyal, PinkPantheress, Peggy Gou, Ethel Cain, Little Simz and Amaarae. Organisers said the programme consists of 42% women, 41% men, 15% mixed-gender groups and 1% non-binary artists.
Primavera Sound also announced collaborations with social organisations including Top Manta Barcelona, Dinder Club, Som Fundació and Fundació Superacció to support inclusion and attendance for people at risk of social exclusion.
