Outbreak Festival, a dance music festival due to be held this weekend at Donington Park, has been postponed amid the possibility of repeated violence.

At the 2014 event, held six months ago at the Ricoh Arena, a 19-year old man was found with stab wounds in the car park. Two 25-year old men from Birmingham were arrested but later released on bail.

Now, on new information and advice offered by the Leicestershire Police, Outbreak’s organisers have confirmed that this weekend’s event has been postponed.

Their statement read: “We have put every effort into delivering the festival, but due to being made aware of certain information received regarding potential danger to public safety during the event, the decision was taken today to act immediately, rather than postponing the festival at too short notice.”

Ticketholders have been encouraged to pursue refunds from the point of purchase.
