Irish festival Killarney Festival of Music & Food has been cancelled, organisers announced today.

A spokeswoman said the cancellation is ‘due to unforeseen circumstances’ beyond the festival’s concern.

The news comes after the event was relocated just yesterday (25 June) from Killarney House Demesne to Killarney Racecourse.

Duran Duran, The Stunning and Texas were due to play to a crowd of 36,000 over the festival’s two days.

A statement from the organisers read: “We would like to extend our sincere apologies to all the festivalgoers who were planning to attend the event in Killarney and we would like to thank all the local businesses and statutory agencies for their help and support.”

Ticketholders are advised to contact the point of purchase for refunds.
