Oasis will reform and play a 14-date tour of stadiums across the UK and Ireland next year promoted by a partnership of SJM, Live Nation, MCD and DF Concerts.

The confirmation of the reunion followed a weekend of heavy hints across social media and during Liam Gallagher’s performance at the Reading Festival on Saturday during which “27.08.24” and “8am” was projected on stage during his set.

Liam and his brother Noel, who last performed together in 2009, will kick off their reunion tour with shows at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on 4 and 5 July, followed by 11, 12, 19 and 20 July shows at Heaton Park in Manchester, 2 and 3 August gigs at Wembley Stadium, shows on 8 and 9 August at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium and 16 and 17 August concerts at Dublin’s Croke Park.

The dates have been billed in a press release as the domestic leg of the tour, with dates in mainland Europe being planned for later in 2025. The release stated that there has been “no great revelatory moment that has ignited the reunion – just the gradual realisation that the time is right.”

Night Time Economy Adviser for Greater Manchester Sacha Lord has predicted the Greater Manchester economy will benefit by more than £15million as a direct result of the four Oasis shows at Heaton Park.

“The Oasis reunion will create a hugely positive surge in hospitality,” he said. “Events aren’t just about ticket sales, they have huge impacts on the local area and our hotels, pubs, bars, restaurants will all see the benefit, including extra hours for staff, as well as renewed global attention on the region and its cultural history.”

“We are immensely proud of our music heritage here in Greater Manchester and we are excited to welcome the band home.”

While tickets do not go on sale until 9am on Saturday, 31 August, Birmingham City University researchers have estimated that the 14 date-run will bring in around £400m in ticket sales and other add ons.

Despite speculation to the contrary, it has been reported that Oasis will not play Glastonbury next year.
