The fifth edition of Music Mudder raised more than £68,000 for Nordoff and Robbins, the UK’s largest music therapy charity.
Organised by talent agency Wasserman Music, Music Mudder returned on 19 September at Camelot Events’ ‘Nuts Challenge’ course in Dorking, Surrey. More than 430 industry professionals from 54 teams took on obstacles across a 7km course.
Team Atlantic finished as fastest overall for a second year. Cuffe and Taylor raised the most as a team with £10,000, while Josh Javor of WME was the top individual fundraiser with £1,990.
Since its launch, Music Mudder, a music-themed endurance challenge involving representatives from across the live entertainment sector, has raised more than £300,000 for the charity.
Organisers said the money raised could fund more than 800 therapy sessions, provide instruments for 33 schools or support three students completing Nordoff and Robbins’ two-year Master of Music Therapy programme.
Nordoff and Robbins director of fundraising Sandy Trappitt said, “So many of our friends from across the music industry and beyond joined us to take on the challenge, get muddy and raise lots of money for vital music therapy services. In challenging times when our costs are rising as fast as demand for music therapy, all the money raised will help us massively in giving even more people the chance to connect and communicate through the power of music.”
“I’d like to give a huge shout out to everyone who took part in the fundraising,” said Wasserman Music agent Lucy Putman. “We were lucky that the sun came out again on the day, and it was great to see everyone out in force supporting this amazing charity.”
