Max SteventonLondon’s Ministry of Sound is set to undergo a major transformation of its main room, The Box, throughout January.
The refurbishment, which coincides with the venue’s 35th anniversary, will include a complete redesign of the sound, lighting, and stage layout.
Ministry of Sound’s sound system be part of the South London club’s improvements. Patchwork London is installing the new KV2 Audio system for the London club.
The DJ booth will be lowered into the crowd and reconfigured as a modular structure capable of multiple stage formats, including 360-degree setups. An elevated backstage area will be added around the booth, and the room’s capacity will increase by approximately 200 people.
The Box will feature a nine-square-meter overhead light installation along with updated video and lighting design by Lucid Creates. The design includes a multi-layered metal structure above the dancefloor integrating reflective surfaces, video screens, and LED bars.
Two reopening events are scheduled for the end of January include performances by &friends, Moeaike, Pete Tong and Kölsch.
The Ministry of Sound brand also operates venues internationally, including events and clubs in Ibiza, Las Vegas, Singapore and Bangkok.
