As the Boston Red Sox prepare to take on the New York Yankees at London Stadium this summer, Major League Baseball is putting on London Yards Festival, a free to attend weekend festival from Friday 28 June to Sunday 30 June for Londoners to revel in all things baseball.

Located at London’s Truman Brewery, the three-day festival, organised by Imagination, will allow fans to take part in interactive baseball games, eat food inspired by Boston and New York, drink specially brewed beer and get their hands on the latest MLB merchandise. London Yards will also be live screening the Mitel & MLB presents London Series games, which sees two of the greatest rivals lock horns.

London Yards will be home to an immersive VR baseball simulator, where attendees can pick up a bat and slug some homers against the biggest stars in the game. The Hittrax technology tracks exit velocity and launch angles meaning results can be observed almost instantly on screen.

For fans of baseball fashion and merchandise, Legends will be running a superstore from London Yards, which will be stocking official MLB apparel. New Era will also be on site showcasing its brand story and providing cap customisation for anyone who has bought on from the Legend store, while 47 will be recreating the site of their first store, where visitors to the Yards will be able to get a free customised pennant pressed right before their eyes.

For baseball card fanatics, Topps will be creating customised cards for visitors to keep as a souvenir for the experience.

To keep the party atmosphere going throughout the weekend Champion is partnering with, Hackney based radio station NTS to play music inspired by the cities of Boston and New York, with live acts still to be announced soon.

Among the vendors will be Randy’s Wing Bar, offering a foodie twist to an all-American classic with their much-celebrated truffle blue cheese sauce and wings. Joe Public Pizza will be serving up 20-inch pies alongside crab themed restaurant CLAW.

Elsewhere, Jake’s Vegan Steaks will serve plant-based food including ‘cheezesteaks’ and tangy hot sauce. Finally, serving Italian American street food will be Capish and their Boston Dog, complete with Boston bean chilli, smoked ranch and Monterey Jack cheese.

Bespoke craft beers, sodas and soft drinks will be supplied by local favourite The Seveney. Working with Mondo and other brewers to provide craft beers and beer collaborations inspired by both cities especially for London Yards, the East London bar is ready to quench the thirst of baseball fans.

General admission to MLB London Yards is free and available on the door at The Truman Brewery.
