KMJ Entertainment Group CEO Stuart Galbraith was presented with the Gold Brick Award after promoting his hundredth show at The O2.
The concert by Ludovico Einaudi also saw the Italian composer recognised, in has case with The O2 Arena’s First Time Award.
Galbraith’s Gold Brick will now be included backstage at the AEG-owned and operated London venue on its Promoter Wall of Fame.
Galbraith said, ‘What an honour and a privilege to be awarded a Gold Brick on the Promoter Wall of Fame, and for it to be triggered by Ludovico’s debut performance at London’s The O2 Arena. Both Ludovico and I have enjoyed careers spanning over 45 years in the entertainment industry, and it’s incredibly special to be able to share this this milestone evening with him.’
Kilimanjaro Live, a subsidiary of KMJ, said its increased focus on promoting modern-classical music concerts in recent years is paying dividends. Aside from Einaudi, it has also taken Lord of the Rings Orchestral into sizeable venues in the UK and Australia, and recently launched an arena tour for Royal Albert Hall official organist Anna Lapwood.
The promoter said it has also enjoyed success with Andrea Bocelli; with Semmel Concerts on Hans Zimmer Live and the World of Hans Zimmer; promoting multiple sold out solo piano recitals with pianist Lang Lang and creating and producing a theatre concert tour this coming autumn for Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds.
