Stuart Galbraith’s Kilimanjaro Live is to stage a series of live shows to accompany this year’s edition of music retail initiative National Album Day.

Set to take place on 19 October, National Album Day will celebrate ‘Great British Groups’ with the aim of driving interest in both heritage artists and new talent.

Kilimanjaro, part of the KMJ Entertainment Group, will promoter a range of themed shows by acts including New Model Army, Sea Girls and Cat Burns throughout October, and on National Album Day The Pretenders will perform at Connexin Live in Hull.

The promoter joins National Album Day partners including BBC Radio 2 and War Child. Along with live performances the initiative includes artist interviews, listening events, in-store artist appearance and exhibitions at the likes of the V&A museum.

“Kilimanjaro Live is honoured and delighted to become the official live partner for National Album Day,” said Galbraith. “Nothing compares to the absolute exhilaration between audience and artist when they share an album together during a live performance – that’s when you see the true magic of the album spark into an everlasting memory through the wonder of live.  Through this union of Kilimanjaro Live and National Album Day, we aim to open up the sharing-moment of the album across many live shows in the future.”

Launched in 2018, National Album Day is organised by recorded music industry trade body the BPI and the Entertainment Retail Association (ERA).
