Christopher BarrettFar and Beyond (FAB) has been appointed as the event producer for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025, and is looking to engage with suppliers located in and around Liverpool.
The company, led by founder Jess Shields and head of event operations John Probyn (pictured), will oversee the production of the 23-25 May event at Sefton Park in Liverpool. Among the acts to perform are Sam Fender, Mumford and Sons, Tom Grennan Wet Leg and Lola Young.
FAB said that as part of its commitment to fostering local engagement, the team is keen to hear from suppliers based nearby the event site, with the aim of exploring opportunities for collaboration in order to ensure the event drives as much revenue back into the local economy as possible.

This is such an exciting partnership, and everyone involved is working hard to create an unforgettable customer and broadcast experience. We are committed to delivering a seamless event alongside the BBC and Liverpool City Council, and we look forward to collaborating with local suppliers and stakeholders within Liverpool to really bring Radio 1’s Big Weekend to life”
The company has previously worked on the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, and counts the Download festival and Creamfields among its many clients. Among the new events it is working on this year is Come Together; a 45,000-capacity festival in Newcastle promoted by TEG Europe that is billed as the “largest outdoor music event the North East has ever seen”.
FAB was voted Production Agency of the Year, at last year’s Event Production Awards.
