Next summer’s 20th-anniversary edition of Live Nation Entertainment’s Download festival (cap. 85,000) has become the fastest-selling in the event’s history.

The festival’s early bird tickets and ‘RIP packages’ have sold out, with a limited amount of RIP tickets on sale next week. The 20th anniversary edition will take place over four days for the first time from 8-11 June 2023 at Donington Park, Leicestershire.

During its launch party on 7 November at the NoMad Hotel in London, more than 60 bands were announced to be playing, including Metallica, Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot, Evanescence and Pendulum.

Several changes were made to the festival this year in its first full-capacity edition since 2019. These included the newly created The Crucible area that featured The Doghouse and The Sidesplitter stages. The Download team also worked with mental health charity Music Support, which operated a Safe Hub backstage where artists and crew could take time out and/or speak to a mental health first aid-trained volunteer.
