Venue operator Broadwick and Smart Group are forming a joint venture catering business that will act as the exclusive food and beverage partner across Broadwick’s London venues.

The new operation will be structured as a ‘hospitality studio’ and deliver food, drink and service across Broadwick’s portfolio. It will operate across venues including 26 Leake Street, Banking Hall, Broadwick Studio, Control Room A, Drumsheds, Exhibition White City, Magazine London and OXO2,

The joint venture builds on a working relationship between the two companies that began in 2016. The new business will have its own team and brand identity and will operate separately from Smart Group’s existing brands, Moving Venue and Last Supper.

Broadwick reports that its venues host more than 2,500 events annually and generate revenues of over £100 million. Smart Group delivers more than 1,000 events each year and reports annual revenues of over £57 million.

“For a long time, hospitality in live environments has been fragmented, with different suppliers, different standards, and often brought in too late to really shape the experience,” said Broadwick CEO Simon Tracey. “This is about changing that. By building a dedicated studio with Smart Group, we’re able to design hospitality into the fabric of each venue, not layer it on afterwards.”

Smart Group CEO Greg Lawson said, “A dedicated studio is the right structure to take that further, designing food, drink and service into the fabric of each venue from day one, at portfolio scale, and flexing across very different environments without losing consistency.”

The studio is scheduled to launch in summer 2026.
