The BM Park Live summer event series, including Junction 2 and Paradise In The City, are among the latest major events to become entirely meat free.

Promoted by electronic music event specialist AMAAD (A Man About A Dog), the BM Park Live events at the 15,000-capacity Boston Manor Park in the London Borough of Hounslow will only offer attendees vegan and vegetarian food.

According to research by live events industry sustainability consultancy A Greener Future, some 20% of festivals were fully vegetarian or vegan last year, up from 8% in 2023, with Massive Attack’s 1.5 concerts being among the highest profile recent shows to forgo meat and Shambala Festival being one of the first to do so.

AMAAD and LWE (London Warehouse Events) switched BM Park Live’s crew catering to solely vegan last year, with 2,883 meals served. The latest step to remove meat entirely from all menus at the events is part of a wider net zero plan by the promoter, which it claims “has achieved targets that would typically take most organisations at least ten years to implement.”

BM Park Live director Will Harold said, “The move to a 100% vegetarian menu is part of our broader sustainability efforts and commitment to reducing carbon emissions, which also include initiatives focused on energy and travel. Having seen the food options that our wonderful group of traders are going to provide, I can confidently say that these will be the tastiest festivals we’ve ever worked on.”
