Austin City Limits was this year home to several innovative tweaks on the traditional festival format.

The American Express Experience and Card Member Lounge (free for all card members with a guest) was decidedly swanky, with air-conditioning, water refill stations, and complimentary monogramming offered across multiple floors.

Designed as an ode to its location, the venue’s first level, open to all festival attendees, showcased small businesses in the local community, with a Waterloo Records pop-up and thirst quenching offerings from Austin-based JuiceLand juice bar. Elsewhere, local artist Michael Williams of Resurrection Tattoo inked up guests with temporary tattoos.

The event’s Bonus Tracks Stage, meanwhile, featured one-on-one conversations, podcast recordings, interactive wellness events, from 12.30pm-5pm, while a stroller-friendly Austin Kiddie Limits section allowed parents to register their young ones to the festival and receive an RFID wristband, which will allow them to easily reunite in the event they get split up from one another.

Another popular attraction was a dedicated Autograph roster, providing a chance for fans to meet their favourite bands and artists.
